We're officially 45 days away from opening at Heavenly Mountain Resort and Northstar California -- and Ullr seems to be jumping the gun.
With snow accumulating at both resorts in the past 24 hours, winter is rearing her gorgeous head and helping skiers and snowboarders prepare for another year of La Niña.
Last season, Northstar skiers enjoyed 660+ inches of snow and Heavenly reveled in 529 total inches of snow. That made for one heck of a year. Forecasters expect another season of La Niña as well -- and we're hoping that snow this early is only a good sign for opening day on Nov. 18.
