As the weather warms up, the snow gets softer and spring activities abound. Check out pro snowboarder Steve Fisher's top picks for Breckenridge this spring.

  1. The Mountain duh!
With warmer temps becoming more prevalent this means less people will be coming up to the mountains because of spring fever. So this is your chance to get up on the next few weekends with far less crowds to deal with.

  • Go hiking!
There are countless trails around Summit County so take advantage of our open space. Some of my favorite hikes here include; Spruce Creek, Blue Lakes Rd, McCullah's Gulch, Boreas Pass Rd, & lower Quandary trail.

  • Happy Hour
There are a ton of restaurants around with great happy hour specials. Some have really great decks for the warm afternoons too. First and foremost, the patio at One Ski Hill Place at the bottom of Peak 8 is amazing for those lazy afternoons and have great drinks and food when your done shredding and skiing. Other great spots include; Bubba Gump, Kenosha, and Relish.

  • Cross Country Skiing
Rent some equipment from Mountain Outfitters on Ridge Street in Breckenridge. Ask for Jeff and you'll get a nice, comfortable setup. With the melting snow sometimes you just don't want to post hole while hiking. So cross country skiing is a great substitute and any of the trails listed above are equally good to ski.

  • Good Times Adventures
This is a great activity if you're just too tired from the mountain and need something different for a change. At Good Times Adventures you can go on a dog sledding tour or a snowmobile tour.

I hope my top 5 activities help you out on your spring breaks here in Breckenridge!
