I just returned from a unique event called the Nine Queens, which took place for the first time last week. Fourteen of the best female freeskiers gathered in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Austria, to session a perfect jump, in perfect weather.

With the ages ranging from 9 to 28, the amount of skill and variety was incredible! Tricks ranged from the first ever switch ten thrown by Kaya Turski, to super corked seven mutes by Anna Segal, and Keri Herman was laying down steezy switch cork fives and sevens.

It was a week to be remembered by all of those who were in attendance, and on the last day, the first ever, all women's big air contest went off! Breckenridge team rider Anna Segal claimed seventh place, with an impressive amount of variety. Eva Patscheider and Ashley Battersby stood in fifth and sixth place. Emma Dahlstrom and Breck rider Keri Herman tied for third with impressive cork nine tails, and super smooth switch sevens. Kaya Turski and Maria Bagge took second and third, both showing the judges their switch nines and tens.

I was stoked on how the week turned out, and was happy to be there skiing such a unique feature. The event really showcased how women's freeskiing is progressing. All in all, it was a fantastic week, and the Breckenridge team made an impressive showing!
