Tahoe Snowcial - the must attend social event of 2011

Ring in 2011 by attending Tahoe’s fastest-growing networking event, the Tahoe Snowcial, January 6-9, 2011 at Heavenly Mountain and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. In its third year, this social event combines the fast-paced mountain adventure with the all-night party scene. Watch the video from 2010.

“Tahoe Snowcial 2011 brings cooler speakers and more entertainment,” said Russ Pecoraro, Heavenly director of communications. “The event has momentum, it’s growing and it’s a heck of a good time!”

The internationally attended event will welcome over 100 guests who are all passionate about snowsports, technology, media and having an amazing time. This is the place you’ll find the movers and shakers from the snowsports industry, as well as from the social, gadget and media industries. This is a great opportunity to network and meet fun people. Somewhere along the line we’ve dubbed ourselves “Snowcialites” and “Snowcialistas”, a great representation of who we are.

Tahoe Snowcial kicks-off with a Welcome Reception on Thursday, January 6 at Harvey’s Tallac Pyramid Room from 8pm-10pm. Guests will enjoy beer tasting from Sapporo, heavy hors D’ ouvres, black jack and poker.  The real excitement begins at 10pm at the Harvey’s Poker Room where the legendary Tahoe Snowcial Poker Tourney will take place. Open to the first 50 people…who will seize the title this year?

Day two brings your morning options. The Reno Gazette-Journal will offer the Blog University conference from 9am to noon, an opportunity for aspiring bloggers to get the inside scoop. Option two: sightseeing or shredding the rad at Heavenly Mountain!

The afternoon will bring an amazing line-up of speakers to the Emerald Bay rooms on the conference level of Harveys. The conference will begin at 1:00pm with a welcome from Snowcial visionary David LaPlant of One to One interactive with comments from 2010 keynote speaker MC Hammer. Conference speakers include Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz, media expert Christ Elliott, Gowalla founder Josh Williams and Path co-founder Dave Morin; for a complete schedule click here.

Last year’s keynote speaker MC Hammer will perform an evening concert on Friday night at Harrah’s South Shore Room. This concert sold-out last year so make sure to get your tickets ahead of time. I wonder how many Snowcialites we can get on stage this year. Saturday night will also rock with the OK Go! performance at 7:30pm.

But who really cares about all the awesome parties, poker, dining, drinking and socializing? The highlight of this event will be the days of powder skiing and riding at Heavenly Mountain. The storm door is open! Heavenly has received over 15 feet of snow in the past month and the forecast is predicting snowstorms to continue, breaking just in time for Tahoe Snowcial.

With 4,800 acres of shreddable terrain, the planet’s best tree skiing and riding, and three backcountry access gates that are beckoning to be entered, Heavenly is going to be going off for this event!
