Anyone who has experienced a New Year's Eve celebration in South Lake Tahoe will tell you it's the place to be - the streets of South Shore are teeming with huge crowds, music is blaring and there's no such thing as last call.

If you're heading to the lake, you've already made a good choice.

If you want to make it the best decision of 2012, head to Heavenly Mountain Resort to kick start the party. And the best part? It's totally free.

Yes. FREE New Year's Eve party in South Lake Tahoe

Starting at 6:00pm, the Heavenly Village will feature an energetic cover band to satisfy all musical tastes, spanning from the 60s to the latest hits.

Next, you can't miss the "Fire Groove" show. If you've never experienced a fire dance performance, you will be absolutely captivated by their moves.

Bringing the event full circle will be an action-packed ice sculpting show. How can ice sculpting possibly be action-packed, you ask?

Simple. Add awesome music, crazy lights and an opportunity to be a part of the skit.

For those of us who can't possibly stay up until midnight (great perk for parents and kids), the Heavenly gondola cars will simulate the Times Square ball drop. How rad is that?

If you're looking for a quiet night this New Year's Eve, stay far away from Heavenly Mountain and South Lake Tahoe - this New Year's Eve party knows no end.
