I'm back for episode #3.  Parts 1 & 2, both on Vail, can be found here, and here.  This week, I figured I would share the EpicMix pins you can achieve at Beaver CreekBeaver Creek was by far the easiest to earn all of the pins that I found, and someone who is a beginner shouldn't have any issues doing the steps required.  I would say the trickiest pin for a beginner would be the Bird Bath pin, but it is doable.  For beginner access to the bottom of the Birds of Prey Express after riding the Drink of Water lift, take your favorite run back down to Spruce Saddle, then take Cinch past Bridle, and then traverse across onto Dally, which will drop you off at the bottom of the Birds of Prey Express, an easy green the whole way.

While earning the Bachelor pin, be sure to make at least one run down Sawbuck.  This is by far my favorite groomer at Beaver Creek.  I just love doing some quick GS turns down Sawbuck when I visit.

I wasn't able to find a pin for skiing or riding during the Birds of Prey World Cup, but I suspect there is one out there. Here are the pins that I found at Beaver Creek.

  • Toe Dipper - Earned for your first visit to Beaver Creek
  • Opening Day Beaver Creek - Earned for attending Beaver Creek's opening day
  • Snow Jack Rabbit - Earned for five rides on Buckaroo
  • Bird Bath - Earned for getting a Drink of Water before riding with the Birds of Prey
  • Bachelor - Earned for five rides on the Bachelor Gulch lift
  • BC Summit - Earned for riding the Cinch lift five times
  • Beav Pow - Earned for hitting Beaver Creek with a 6 inch snow check in
  • Falcon - Earned for 10 days in one season at Beaver Creek
  • Owl - Earned for 25 days in one season at Beaver Creek
  • Bald Eagle - Earned for 50 days this season at Beaver Creek
