The Stash at Northstar
Kevin Arnold
1/10/2011 2:14 AM
“The Stash
” at
Northstar at Tahoe
is an all-mountain all-natural terrain park with mainly log jibs and bonks.
It was designed by Burton's team riders in conjunction with Snow Park Technologies. The Stash was designed to be a spot for riders to develop and progress
on new level.
This park is a creative theme with out of the ordinary riding for all riders from beginners to experts who are willing to progress their log jibbing skills.
There is a wide array of riding available at the stash which adds to its epicness. The Stash will allow your riding to progress in different styles.
Here are a few ways your riding can progress from The Stash.
Tree Riding
–
The Stash is made up of a few intricate tree runs that meander through the shreddog forest with jibs intertwined throughout.
You have got to be on your toes if you're dodging trees from left to right while coming off log jibs.
Be sure to bring your “A-Game” while flying through the trees and watch out for Sasquatch!
Tree riding will force you to explore more on the mountain. While you are in the Shreddog Forest, make sure to look out for the Craig Kelly Memorial Cabin, check it out, and pay homage to one of snowboarding’s legends.
Also if your up for the challenge, hit the rails on the cabin’s deck or launch off the roof.
The Craig Kelly cabin is personally my favorite feature in The Stash.
Log Jibbing/Bonking
–
Log jibs are not common features and can throw you off your game a bit when you come across them. However, the Stash allows you to stay on top of your log jib game.
Log features in the stash aren’t your typical logs. They are custom logs designed specifically for snowboarding and jibbing.
Log jibs in The Stash range from: down-flat-down logs to huge up-down jibs, flat logs, and cannons.
There is also a large variety of Sasquatch heads to bonk as well as log bonks.
There are so many features in all sorts of different sizes and directions at The Stash that you can spend all day there while finding new log jibs on every run where you can learn new log jib combos.
Go out and find The Stash, rip it up, and have fun, but remember to easy style it.
